Project overview

Delta Wye was invited to entirely re-wire an 80 year old electrical system for the Chickamauga River Lock in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We mobilized in December of 2020 and worked until May of 2021. This project required the installation of approximately 3000 feet of 12 inch cable tray, as well as around 2500 feet of 3 inch rigid metal conduit. Some of it was done while hanging over the edge of a concrete wall with the water 45 feet below. We even had to rent a pontoon at one point to access hard to reach places. The largest challenge of this project was the fact that this project was a 22 hour drive from our office in Gillette, which meant that we traded crews often to give employees time at home. Delta Wye crews worked together safely and efficiently to meet all install schedule dates and we completed the project on schedule during the peak of COVID in America.
