Project overview

This project was a pair of new crypto-mine facilities located adjacent to Powder River Energy Corporation (PRECorp) substations for turnkey completion by the Owner. Hired as an Electrical Contractor, Delta Wye performed the research, obtained permits, inspections, testing, and the successful startup of the equipment. Delta Wye hired ARC Engineering to perform independent QA/QC duties and to guide us through the installation of High Voltage scope and components. This was a fast track project with very intense requirements to source material and keep the project on schedule for an aggressive schedule that the Client developed. Our scope of work included the installation of all power from 24,900/14,400 to 415/240 and below through all necessary methods to step down power and install all material for the completion of the project until power was utilized for cryptocurrency mining.  From the pole tops down to (8) 2.5 MW transformers and through to 4000 amp distribution cabinets, to the mining containers for completed wiring. In addition, Operational Buildings were wired, connected, and an allowance for future PT/CT metering was planned.  Delta Wye Inc performed this work under the supervision of many entities.  Our utility partners PRECorp, Arc Engineering, Campbell County, Saber56.  Delta Wye was responsible for all power and data/ com to the site and from within.  Delta Wye was responsible for all pole construction, distribution pole under and over builds, transformer installation and terminations, as well as all testing and commissioning.   Working alongside the Design Engineers at ARC Engineering, allowed a swift approach to an aggressive schedule. Daily and weekly coordination allowed the efforts of all teams to perform with high standards, and delivery of a timely completion that came in on budget. The Quality Control aspect from ARC Engineering allowed our installers access to instant answers and support from the Engineering Team. With the hazards of a substation adjacent and connecting into this facility, all precautions to equipment and personnel were taken. The Engineering Team was able to work with our installers and Project Manager to assist in material acquisition. This allowed us to draw from their experience of suppliers and vendors to cut most lead times of material by nearly 75%.
