Project overview

Project consisting of electrical, landscaping, traffic control, sidewalk, curb and gutter, irrigation, drainage, grading, surfacing (concrete) and miscellaneous work on approximately 0.40 miles of WYO 336 beginning at Sta 3+94.87 at the East 5th Street Corridor in the City of Sheridan.  The project consisted of running new conduit, wiring, and associated electrical items for the installation of approximately 54 new decorative and roadway luminaires. Using our crane and digger derricks, we drilled, installed caissons, and poured bases for 43 light fixtures. An additional 11 fixtures were installed as direct bury lights. Our crews were versed in crane safety, rigging, and the associated hazards of working in live traffic, near live electrical, water, and fiber lines. In addition, our crane was used to safely fell more than 10 large, mature trees, and safely rig the loads to a safe location so that traffic wasn’t impeded. More than 44,700’ of conductor was installed, as well as associated service points and electrical work to tie these into the City’s existing lighting plan. This project required Delta Wye to bring in a team of people who were versed in civil type construction for sidewalk removal, driveway removal, street removal, and civil construction practices to remove and replace these areas of the job while simultaneously installing all of the electrical and plumbing for street lighting, sprinkler systems, and landscape beautification.  Our scope of work required extensive tree removal, realignment of storm drain systems, control panel manufacturing, low voltage systems with underground conduit and wire, ahead of our subcontractors doing the concrete, the landscape work and the final touches on completion work.  All of this work took place while we had full traffic on the street around the clock.  We took this job on from start to finish and completed the project during a time of nationwide material shortages, manpower shortages and completed the project with the full approval of Wyoming Department of Transportation.  Today the City of Sheridan enjoys a new corridor entryway into their city because of our willingness to take on a new type of work.
